About the Family Stabilization Unit:
The Family Stabilization Unit is a pilot program that work across local government agencies to help Black boys and their families successfully navigate the challenges of a complex human services system.
This first-of-its-kind unit provides wraparound assistance, while taking a tailored approach to meet the unique needs of each family – all through a social determinants of health and racial equity lens.
Who We Work With:
The Family Stabilization Unit works with Black youth (ages 5-18) who are involved with the justice system, typically dealing with lower-level offenses like truancy or minor delinquency. Our Specialist also provide individualized support for the entire family and collaborate with community partners to address barriers they need assistance removing.
What We Do:
• Support the individual needs of everyone in the household
• Direct assistance enrolling in core benefits like Food Assistance, Medicaid or Publicly Funded Child Care
• Connect with additional supports like housing, mental health or substance abuse treatment, mentoring, parenting supports and employability training
• Coaching and support to help the whole family achieve their goals

NEW: Youth of Incarcerated Parents Program
Franklin County’s Youth of Incarcerated Parents program offers equitable solutions for justice-involved residents and their families.
Caregivers are connected with resources that include assistance with employment, education, wellbeing, and supportive services.
Families are paired with a Specialist to create a sustainability case plan focused on increasing stabilization and opportunities for success.
