Franklin County Job and Family Services Opportunity Centers Closed To Public Tomorrow, March 17

Columbus, OH – Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services Opportunity Centers will be closed to the public tomorrow, March 17. The Agency anticipates re-opening each of its three Opportunity Centers (East Opportunity Center at 1055 Mt. Vernon Ave., Columbus, 43203; Northland Opportunity Center at 1721 Northland Park Ave. Columbus, 43229; and West Opportunity Center, 314 N. Wilson Road, Columbus, 43204) to the public under normal hours of operation on Wednesday, March 18. 

FCDJFS employees will continue to report to work in order to process applications and renewals for Agency-administered public assistance benefits. Only Opportunity Center lobbies, which are normally open to the public from 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., will be closed March 17. 

Customers and residents who need public assistance benefits like food assistance, cash assistance or Medicaid can apply online at www.benefits.ohio.gov or over the phone at 1-844-640-OHIO (6446). Customers can also check on the status of an existing case, submit verification documents and sign up for text message notifications online through the Ohio Benefits Self Service Portal at https://ssp.benefits.ohio.gov/.

As a reminder, Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services does not process applications for unemployment benefits. Franklin County workers impacted by closures due to COVID-19 should visit https://unemployment.ohio.gov or call or 1-877-644-6562 weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
