Columbus, Ohio – Franklin County is teaming up with NBC 4 and an array of community partners to help connect residents struggling with rent or facing eviction with resources and support to stay in their homes.
This Tuesday, Sept. 28, NBC 4 will dedicate its evening newscasts to answering viewer phone calls about rental assistance, eviction and much more.
This special Better Call 4 event will include staff from Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services (FCDJFS), IMPACT Community Action and the Franklin County Veterans Service Commission to answer questions and walk callers through their rental assistance options. There will also be experts from Community Mediation Services of Central Ohio and attorneys from the Legal Aid Society of Columbus on the line to help answer questions about eviction, mediation, tenant’s rights and more.

The Franklin County Commissioners have long provided funding for targeted rental assistance and other housing stability supports and have allocated millions in additional federal and local funds to keep residents and families in their homes since the onset of the pandemic.
Earlier this month, the Commissioners authorized an additional $1.5 million in funding for the Prevention, Retention and Contingency (PRC) Emergency Rental Assistance program, which was launched by FCDJFS in June. The program can cover the cost of all delinquent rent and up to three months of rent in advance for eligible Franklin County families. Learn more at https://jfs.franklincountyohio.gov/prc.
